"Storyteller" is the spiritual successor to "Nomad", which itself was the spiritual successor to "Still". The goals of "Nomad" were to push for more dynamic "narrative" music and a stronger sense of place, while keeping the focus that "Still" had on texture and atmosphere.

'Storyteller' strives to take those goals and combine the "narrative" ideas and sense of place of "Nomad" into a single concept: motion. The characteristic nature sounds of "Still" and "Nomad" have been greatly expanded and enhanced. The ambient sounds are themselves more layered, complex and dynamic, but sounds of the "protagonist" walking, running and breathing have also been added. More focus was also put on the interactions and interplay between the ambient sounds and the music itself, with the goal of creating a cohesive whole.

Musically, variety of tone is Storyteller's main goal. While the focus is still on ambient orchestral texture, Storyteller's tone can vary from quiet and tranquil to urgent, dark and wild to whimsical, grounded to ethereal.
